Rising of the Moon

WHAT IT WAS: Every Thursday after the full moon, musicians from around the region headed by train and car to Guinan's pub in Garrison, N.Y., where they played Irish music for anyone who dropped by. The evening started around 8 p.m. and went until everyone got tired. That was usually sometime after midnight.

WHAT IT COST: Just what you drank.

WHEN IT WAS: The first Thursday after the full moon

UPCOMING SESSIONS

While the sessions at Guinan's are no more, the musicians have regrouped to keep the music alive. Read about current gatherings here.
